Kathleen Burgess will be receiving the Micah 6:8 Award on October 22nd, 2025 at the Capital Area Council of Churches Fall Awards Celebration Dinner.
Kate is the founder and Regional Director of the Ignatian Volunteer Corps(IVC) in Albany, a ministry of the Jesuits. IVC, a spiritual and service organization serving 16 regions throughout the country, connects retired individuals with non-profit organizations that serve people in need. IVC provides a spiritual program for members to gather monthly and reflect on their service. Ms. Burgess led the effort for an IVC in Albany and was appointed the first director in 2019. There are 35 men and women serving with IVC Albany’s 24 partner agencies.
